Senior Associate

 

Dawn M. Sullivan is an associate at Dorsey & Semrau, LLC, having practiced law for over eleven (11) years. She has argued cases before the Appellate Division of New Jersey and throughout the state of New Jersey, and has made numerous appearances before judges in NJ and NY state and federal courts and administrative agencies. She has a background in employment and labor law (including training on anti-discrimination/harassment, drafting employee manuals) as well as municipal practice, NJ Division on Civil Rights, NY Division on Human Rights, federal EEOC complaints, contract negotiations, Department of Labor audits, matrimonial matters, family matters, child custody and support matters, domestic relations matters, toxic tort litigation, insurance defense, personal injury, general civil litigation, state and federal housing assistance programs, foreclosures, and OPRA and FOIL procedures (for both requesting party and responding party).

Before joining Dorsey & Semrau, LLC, Ms. Sullivan was an associate with O’Toole, Fernandez Weiner Van Lieu for seven (7) years and the hearing officer for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Housing and Community Affairs for almost three (3) years. Prior to her employment with O’Toole Fernandez Weiner Van Lieu, Ms. Sullivan served a judicial clerkship in the Essex County Superior Court, Chancery Division, Family Part with the Honorable SallyAnne Floria, who is now the presiding judge of the Family Part.

Ms. Sullivan earned her law degree in 2003 from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was an active member of the Student Bar Association and the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International, having served as senator in the SBA and an officer in the fraternity throughout her attendance at Seton Hall. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism from the University of Delaware in 1992.

Ms. Sullivan is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey and New York as well as in the United States District Courts for New Jersey and the Southern and Eastern Districts of N.Y.
